Well, I tell ya, if you ever got yourself a chance to play that Watch Dogs 2 game, you’ll notice one thing right off the bat – the music! It’s like they’ve put together all them good tunes you can’t help but tap your foot to while you’re runnin’ around in that big ol’ city of San Francisco. The soundtrack’s packed with a mix of electronic beats and hip hop, which, I gotta say, ain’t what you might expect from a video game. But let me tell you, it works!
The fella who put all this music together is Hudson Mohawke, some big name in the music business, I reckon. Now, he’s no stranger to mixing up them catchy beats. He took that old-school sci-fi music feel and added a whole lotta modern sounds to it. Makes you feel like you’re in a movie, runnin’ around doin’ some crazy missions with explosions goin’ off everywhere. It really makes you wanna jump into the action, just like you’re right there with them characters!
But that’s not all, no ma’am. Ubisoft, the ones who made the game, decided to get in touch with Oliver Heldens, some Dutch music producer, to help out. Now, ol’ Oliver’s track “Good Life” is one of them tunes that just sticks with you. They even got a whole video for it, showing off DedSec, the group you’re a part of in the game. It really sets the tone for what you’re about to get into – a bunch of hacker folks takin’ down the bad guys in the city.
Now, don’t go thinkin’ this is a continuation of the first Watch Dogs game, ‘cause it ain’t. This here’s a whole new story. New protagonist, new city, new people to meet, and a whole lotta new ways to cause trouble! So, you won’t be lost if you haven’t played the first one. In fact, you might even find it a bit easier to jump right in, ‘cause there’s a lotta new things to see and do.
Now, if you’re playin’ and you wanna hear some new music, it’s real easy to do. Just press the touchpad button when that “New Song” prompt pops up. Or, if you’re one of them folks that likes a bit more control, you can pull out Marcus’ phone and open up that song sneak app. There’s even a radio in the game, so you don’t have to wait around for them NPCs in their cars to start playin’ tunes. You can be your own DJ!
But back to the tunes. Them songs, they really help set the mood for all the crazy stuff you’ll be doin’. You got high-speed car chases, shootouts, and all sorts of explosive action. And the music? Well, it gets the blood pumpin’. I ain’t lyin’ when I say it’ll make you feel like you’re part of the action – like you’re right there, fightin’ alongside Marcus and the crew.
Now, don’t just take my word for it. There’s plenty of tracks you can check out, and let me tell ya, there’s a whole list of ‘em that’ll get stuck in your head! Like “Shanghaied,” “Burning Desire (Hacker),” “W4tched (Cinema),” and “Haum Sweet Haum.” And that’s just a few of ‘em! It’s a good mix of styles that’ll keep ya entertained for hours, whether you’re playin’ the game or just listenin’ to the soundtrack while you’re doin’ somethin’ else.
As you go along in the game, you’ll hear these tunes poppin’ up during side missions and main missions alike. Every little mission has its own theme song, and I gotta say, they did a mighty fine job of matchin’ the music to the action. You’ll be tappin’ your feet, hummimg along, while you hack and sneak your way through all them challenges.
So, if you ever get the chance to play Watch Dogs 2, don’t just focus on all the action and hacking. Pay attention to that soundtrack too. It’s a big part of what makes the whole experience so good. You’ll find yourself listenin’ to the tunes long after you’ve finished the game. And who knows, you might just start seein’ the world in a whole new way – like it’s all part of some big ol’ heist!
