My kids bought me this watch, they said it’s called a “Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro.” I ain’t sure what all that means, but it’s a shiny thing you wear on your wrist. It tells time, just like any other watch, but it does a whole lot more. They said I can even make calls on it! Can you believe that? A watch that lets you talk to people!
Now, the watch comes with a band, but my kids tell me you can change it. They call it the “Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro band”. You can get different ones, different colors, different stuff it’s made of. I guess that’s good if you like to change things up. Me? I just stick with the one they gave me. It’s black and it holds the watch on my arm, that’s all I need.
They showed me how to take the band off, you gotta push a little button thingy on the back. It wasn’t too hard, even for an old lady like me. But why bother, you know? The one I got works just fine. They said some bands are “45mm” and some are “44mm” or “40mm”. I don’t know what that means, but they said it’s important to get the right size. Sounds like buying shoes, gotta get the right fit or it won’t be comfortable.
- They said this watch is “smart”. Smart? I don’t know about that. It’s a watch, how smart can it be? But they tell me it can track my steps, how much I walk each day. I guess that’s good, keeps you moving.
- And this band, they said it’s “designed to fit your wrist”. Well, it better! If it don’t fit, it’s no good, right? They said it has a “firm and stable grip”. That’s good, I don’t want it falling off my arm!
- They also said you can buy new bands at “Best Buy”. I’ve heard of that place. They sell all sorts of things. They even got something called a “Universal Smartwatch band” that fits lots of watches, not just this Samsung one.
I saw them looking at bands on the “website”. That’s like a store on the computer, they said. They showed me pictures of all these different bands. Some are leather, some are metal, some are like rubber. Too many choices, if you ask me. I get confused just looking at them all.
This watch, it’s heavy. Feels like a brick on my arm. But they said it does all sorts of things, like checks your “heart rate” and tells you how you slept. I don’t need a watch to tell me how I slept, I know if I slept good or not! But the kids seem to like all these fancy features.
They said the “lugs” are 20mm. What in the world are lugs? Sounds like something on a tractor. But apparently, it means you need a 20mm band to fit. See, all this technical talk, it just confuses me.
Anyway, this Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro band, it works. It holds the watch on my wrist, and that’s all I care about. They can have their fancy bands and their websites and their technical terms. I’ll just stick with what I know. It tells time, and that’s good enough for me.
