Oh, you wanna know about that Audemars Piguet, huh? Well, lemme tell ya what I know. It’s a fancy watch, that’s for sure. Made in Switzerland, they say. Folks keep talkin’ ’bout it bein’ so precise and all. Must be somethin’ special, costs a pretty penny too.
Now, some folks say it’s better than a Rolex. Don’t know ’bout that. Rolex, they say, is tough as nails. Keeps on tickin’ no matter what. But this Audemars thing, they say it’s all about the fancy work they put into it. Real craftsmanship, they call it.
- Like, them watchmakers, they spend hours and hours on it. Every little piece, perfect and polished. It’s like art, they say. Not just somethin’ to tell time.
If you wanna see one, you gotta go to a boutique, they say. Fancy stores, with shiny floors and people in suits. They’ll let you try it on, but be careful, don’t drop it! That thing’s worth more than my whole house!
Where to find ’em in Hong Kong, you ask? Well, there’s a showroom in Tsim Sha Tsui, I heard. Up on the ninth floor, they say. Two Canton Road. But you can’t just walk in, gotta make an appointment. Fancy, huh? They open Tuesday to Friday, ten in the mornin’ ’til seven at night.
Another place, on Cameron Road. Seventh floor. Number 33. They got a phone number too, if you wanna call. Lots of numbers, I can’t remember ’em all. Something, something, 4000.
And then there’s this Gateway place, Tower two. Suite 1107. Twenty-five Canton Road. Seems like they like Canton Road, these fancy watch people.
Or maybe you wanna go to Nathan Road? Forty-six to fifty-two, and Mody Road, two to twelve. All in Tsim Sha Tsui. So many places, it’s enough to make your head spin!
They got social pages too, I heard. Facebook and Twitter, whatever those things are. Kids these days, always on their phones. Me, I like talkin’ to people face to face.
Saw one advertised the other day, brand new. Royal Oak Jumbo, they called it. In Causeway Bay. More numbers, I can’t remember. Fifty-four something somethin’. For that kinda money, I could buy a whole new tractor!
And then there’s these pre-owned ones. Aristo, they call it. They got all sorts of fancy watches. Rolex, Patek Philippe, and that Audemars thing too. For folks who want a fancy watch but don’t wanna spend a fortune.
