Oh, my dear, let me tell ya, this Watch Dogs 2 on PS5, it’s been a bit of a letdown. Now, I ain’t no tech expert, but I know enough to say that it sure ain’t running at 60fps like we all hoped it would. If you ask me, that’s a real shame. I been playin’ on my PS5, hopin’ to see that sweet, smooth gameplay at 60 frames per second, but no, it’s still stuck at 30fps. That’s just how it goes, I reckon.
Now, don’t get me wrong, this Watch Dogs 2 game is somethin’ else. It’s got all that hacking stuff, real fun story, and the graphics, well, they’re decent too. But the frame rate? Yeah, it needs work. I been hearin’ that some folks are sayin’ the PS5 Pro might be able to do it better, with a nice 60fps lock. I don’t know much about that fancy Pro version, but I do know it’s a real good thing that folks are talkin’ about it. They say it’ll run at a dynamic resolution of about 1600p to 2160p, with all them settings turned up to max. Sounds real sweet, don’t it?
But as far as Watch Dogs 2 on regular ol’ PS5, well, it’s a bit of a letdown. I remember back when I first played it on my PS4, it was only 1080p. Didn’t get no 4K back then, neither. Some folks, they say it ran at a better resolution on Xbox, ’round 900p or so, but honestly, I ain’t too concerned about that. But now, on my new LG OLED TV, I’m expectin’ more. I thought, surely, the PS5 could handle it better, right?
Folks been complainin’ that Ubisoft shoulda given us that 4K 60fps upgrade by now. And I agree! I mean, why couldn’t they? Xbox got its upgrade, didn’t it? Heck, I don’t see why PS5 couldn’t do the same. The game still looks real nice, don’t get me wrong, but when you play something like this, you want it to run smooth, don’t you? That extra frame rate just makes the whole thing feel better. Makes the hacking, the chases, and all them explosions so much more fun, if you ask me.
Now, I don’t know much ’bout all them fancy technical terms, but I do know when somethin’ ain’t runnin’ the way it should. The game itself is top-notch, don’t get me wrong. If you played the first Watch Dogs, you’ll know this one is even better. The story’s good, the gameplay’s a lot more fun, and there’s all sorts of new things to do. But I can’t help but feel like it’s missin’ somethin’. You get used to them higher frame rates on the newer consoles, and when a game don’t live up to that, it can really take you outta the experience.
So, I’m hopin’ Ubisoft gets their act together and gives us that 60fps upgrade soon. I mean, it’s not like it’s askin’ for the moon. It’s a simple thing, really. Just make it run smooth, like we all know it can. ‘Cause when it does, I tell ya, this game is somethin’ special. The whole open world, the hacking, all the cool missions – it’d be even better if it ran right, ya know? That’s what we all want, right? A nice smooth experience, where you can just enjoy the game and not worry about frame drops or stutterin’.
So, there you have it, folks. If you’re thinkin’ of pickin’ up Watch Dogs 2 for your PS5, well, just know that it ain’t quite at that perfect 60fps yet. But hey, it’s still a fun game. Just don’t expect it to blow your mind in the performance department. Maybe in the future, Ubisoft will fix it up. Until then, we’ll just have to deal with what we got.
