Perfect Copy Alert: Fendi Mon Tresor Mini Leather & Mesh Bucket Bag – Unbeatable Quotes

Okay, so I’ve been eyeing this Fendi Mon Tresor Mini for a while now. You know, the one that’s all leather and mesh? It’s super cute, but the price tag? Ouch. So, I thought, why not try to make my own? I mean, how hard could it be, right?

First things first, I needed to get my hands on some materials. I found some decent brown calfskin leather scraps online – not exactly the same as the real deal, but close enough. The mesh was a bit trickier. I ended up getting some black mesh fabric from a local craft store. It wasn’t the same kind of mesh Fendi uses, but hey, it’s a DIY project, gotta make do with what you’ve got.

Next, I needed a pattern. I couldn’t find an exact replica of the Mon Tresor online, so I had to get creative. I grabbed some old bucket bags I had lying around and studied their construction. Took some measurements, drew up some sketches, and after a few trial runs with some cheap fabric, I finally had a pattern I was happy with.

Now for the fun part – cutting and sewing! I carefully cut out the leather and mesh pieces according to my pattern. Sewing the leather was a bit of a challenge, especially since I don’t have an industrial sewing machine. My regular machine handled it okay, but it definitely took some patience and a few broken needles.

  • Cutting the leather: Traced the pattern onto the leather, cut it out with a sharp cutter.
  • Cutting the mesh: Same process as the leather, but the mesh was a bit more slippery.
  • Sewing the pieces: Sewed the leather pieces together, then attached the mesh to the leather base.

The FF motif was another hurdle. I’m not exactly an artist, so hand-painting it was out of the question. Instead, I decided to embroider the logo. I found a simple FF logo online, printed it out, and traced it onto the leather. Then, using black embroidery thread, I carefully stitched the logo onto the front of the bag.

For the finishing touches, I added some gold-toned hardware I found online. They’re not real gold, obviously, but they look pretty good. I also made two detachable shoulder straps – one short and one long – so I can wear the bag in different ways. For those, I use the rest of the leather and also a little bit of mesh. This way I can make it match the design of the main bag.

The Result

After many hours of work, my DIY Fendi Mon Tresor Mini is finally done! It’s not a perfect replica, of course. The leather and mesh are different, the stitching isn’t as clean, and the logo is embroidered instead of embossed. But you know what? I’m pretty darn proud of it! It’s unique, it’s handmade, and it’s mine. Plus, I saved a ton of money, which is always a good thing.

So, if you’re thinking about getting a designer bag but don’t want to break the bank, maybe try making your own! It’s a fun challenge, and you might surprise yourself with what you can create. Just be prepared to put in some time and effort, and don’t be afraid to get creative!
