Alright, let’s yak about this… this… Man-hat-tan bag, yeah, that’s what they call it. From that Saint Laurent fella, or YSL, whatever. Sounds fancy, like them city folks.

This here bag, they say it first came out in 2019. Not too long ago, I reckon. Now, I ain’t no expert, but it looks kinda…boxy. They call it “structured,” I heard. Means it holds its shape, I guess. Got some shiny gold or silver stuff on it too, “hardware” they call it. Makes it look…expensive, you know?

Some folks ask, is Saint Laurent the same as YSL? Well, from what I gather, it’s like this: same family, different names, kinda like how some folks call me Granny and others call me by my real name, but it’s all the same ol’ me. They got different squiggles for their signs, but it’s the same stuff, near as I can tell.

  • It’s gotta be sturdy, I say. If I’m gonna spend good money, I don’t want it fallin’ apart after a few trips to the market, or wherever them city gals take it.
  • And it’s gotta have space. I need to stuff my wallet, my keys, maybe a little snack in there. No use havin’ a bag if it can’t hold nothin’.
  • And it should look nice, I guess. Not too flashy, but somethin’ that makes me feel… fancy. Like I ain’t just a…well, never mind.

This Anthony fella, the one they call the “Creative Director,” he’s the one who thought this bag up, I hear. He’s makin’ all sorts of new stuff for this YSL brand. Purses, clothes, all that fancy stuff. You can even buy it on their…what do you call it… “online store”? That’s like buyin’ from the Sears catalog, but faster, I reckon.

Now, they got this other bag, called the “College” bag. Says it’s “classic” lookin’, shaped like one of them envelopes you put letters in. Sounds kinda plain to me, but what do I know? I ain’t never been to no college. But this Manhattan bag, it’s somethin’ different. It’s got that city feel to it, like them big buildin’s and busy streets. I seen pictures, you know.

So, is this Manhattan bag worth the money? Well, that depends, I reckon. If you like how it looks, and if you want somethin’ that’ll last, then maybe it is. They say these “classics,” they don’t go out of style. You can wear ‘em for years and years, they say. Like them old coats folks used to wear, the ones that lasted forever.

They got a whole bunch of these Manhattan bags, different colors, different sizes. You can go online and look at ‘em all. They got pictures and everything. It’s kinda like flippin’ through a magazine, but on that…internet thingy. My grandson showed me once.

I heard tell some folks collect these bags. Like they collect stamps or them… Beanie Babies, remember those? They keep ‘em all nice and pretty, don’t even use ‘em sometimes. Just look at ‘em, I guess. Well, to each their own, I say. If I’m gonna spend money on a bag, I’m gonna use it. I’m gonna stuff it full of my things and carry it everywhere.

This Saint Laurent fella, or YSL, they seem to know what they’re doin’. They make all sorts of fancy things, and folks seem to like ‘em. They got stores all over the world, I hear. Big fancy stores with bright lights and shiny floors. Not like the general store we got down the road, that’s for sure.

And they got this new bag too, the Le 37 bag. Always somethin’ new with these folks. Keepin’ up with the times, I guess. But that Manhattan bag, that’s the one we’re talkin’ about today. It’s the one that caught my eye, with its boxy shape and shiny stuff. It looks like it could hold its own, you know? Like it could handle anything you throw at it.

So, there you have it. My two cents on this Manhattan bag. It’s fancy, it’s sturdy, and it’s probably expensive. But if you want somethin’ nice, somethin’ that’ll last, and somethin’ that’ll make you feel like a million bucks, then maybe it’s worth a look. Just don’t go spendin’ your life savings on it, you hear? There’s more to life than fancy bags.

And remember, whether it’s got the YSL squiggle or the whole Saint Laurent name, it’s the same thing. Don’t let ‘em fool you with all that fancy talk. It’s just a bag, after all. But a mighty fine bag, from what I can tell. A mighty fine bag indeed.
