Alright, let’s talk about this here watch, the CopyOMEGA Ω Speedmaster Day-Date. Folks call it a “Speedy,” but don’t ask me why. It ain’t speedy like a rabbit, that’s for sure. It just tells time, and the day, and the date, all fancy-like.
Now, I ain’t no fancy watch expert. I just know what I like and what I don’t. And this here watch, well, it looks nice. Shiny, you know? It’s got this black circle thingy on it, they call it a bezel, with numbers all around. Folks say it’s for figurin’ out speed, but I ain’t never used it for that. I just look at it and think, “Well, that’s a lot of numbers.”
- It’s got hands, like a regular clock. One for the hours, one for the minutes, and one little skinny one that goes around and around real fast. That’s the seconds, I reckon.
- And then there’s this other hand, pointin’ to the date. Handy, I guess, if you forget what day it is. Which I do sometimes, bein’ old and all.
- They say it’s made of “stainless steel”. Sounds strong, don’t it? Hope it don’t rust none.
This watch, it ain’t one of them battery watches. You gotta wind it up, like an old-timey clock. They say it’ll run for 48 hours if you wind it all the way. That’s two whole days! But I wind it up every mornin’, just to be safe. Don’t wanna be late for nothin’.
Now, some of these Speedys are big, and some are a little smaller. This one I got, it’s a good size, not too big, not too small. Just right for my old wrist. They got numbers for the size, but I don’t pay no mind to that. If it fits, it fits, that’s what I say.
They say this watch is famous, been around since, oh, I don’t know, some time long ago. 1957, maybe? That’s what I heard. And it was the first watch with them numbers on the circle thingy, the bezel. Fancy that! Folks seem to like ‘em, these old watches. They say they hold their value, whatever that means. I guess it means you can sell it for a lot of money later on. But I ain’t sellin’ mine. I like it too much.
Some of these watches, they wind themselves up, automatic they call it. But this one, like I said, you gotta wind it yourself. Some folks like that better, say it’s more “pure.” I don’t know about “pure,” but it works just fine for me. Keeps good time, too. That’s the main thing, ain’t it? A watch that don’t keep time ain’t worth a hill of beans.
They make all sorts of different Speedys. Some just tell the time. Some tell the time and the date. This one I got tells the time, the day, and the date. That’s why they call it the “Day-Date,” I guess. Makes sense. Some folks call it the “Triple Date” too, ‘cause it shows you the day, date, and I guess the time counts as a date too. Clever, them watch folks.
I saw some new ones online, and used ones too. Lots of places sellin’ ‘em. Prices all over the place, mind you. Some high, some low. You gotta shop around, that’s what I say. Don’t just buy the first one you see. And make sure it’s in good shape. You don’t want no broken watch.
This watch I got, they say it’s in “excellent condition.” Well, I hope so. I take good care of it. Don’t wear it when I’m doin’ chores or workin’ in the garden. Don’t want to scratch it up. It’s too pretty for that.
So, there you have it. My thoughts on this CopyOMEGA Ω Speedmaster Day-Date watch. It ain’t nothin’ fancy, just a good, reliable watch that tells the time and the date. And it looks nice too, which is always a plus. If you’re lookin’ for a watch, this one ain’t a bad choice. But don’t take my word for it. Go look at ‘em yourself. See what you like. That’s the best way to do it.
