You know, that OMEGA, they made a new watch. It’s called, uh, Speedmaster X-33 Marstimer. Big, fancy name, ain’t it? My grandson, he’s always on about these space things, he told me about it. Says it’s for going to Mars. Mars! Can you believe that?
This here OMEGA X-33 Marstimer, it’s somethin’ else. They say it can tell time on Earth and on Mars. Now, how they do that? Sounds like a bunch of hooey to me, but my grandson, he swears it’s true. He says there’s some sort of “thermo-compensated” thingamajig inside. Keeps it tickin’ right, even when it’s cold as a well-digger’s you-know-what. Like, zero degrees, or even 140 degrees! This watch, it can take it. That’s what they say, anyway. Good for golf and skiing, they say too.

They worked with them space folks, ESA, that’s what they call ’em. European Space Agency. Sounds important, don’t it? They helped make this watch. They had some other watch before, Skywalker something. This new one, though, it’s got even more doodads on it. My grandson, he’s all excited, says it’s the bee’s knees. I don’t know about that, but it does look kinda neat, I guess. All them buttons and numbers.
They say all them astronauts, the American ones and the European ones, they all get one of these X-33 watches before they go up in them rockets. It’s like their special space watch. This Marstimer watch, it’s a big deal, I guess. All them space folks are talkin’ about it. My grandson, he can’t stop talkin’ about it. Says it’s the future. Says it’s gonna change everything. I don’t know about all that. But, I do know one thing. That’s one fancy watch. And if it’s good enough for them astronauts, well, it’s probably good enough for anybody. Even us folks down here on Earth. Even if it does cost more than a new tractor!
Yep, if you need to know what time it is on Mars, this is the watch you want. Or so they say. I’ll stick to my old clock, thank you very much. But for them space folks, this OMEGA X-33 Marstimer, it’s the cat’s meow. That’s what they’re all sayin’ anyway.
