Hey there, y’all! Let’s gab a bit about this here… uh… Remake Yves Saint Laurent YSL ENVELOPE BAG, somethin’ they sell at the official flagship store, whatever that means. Sounds fancy, huh? Don’t you worry, I’ll make it plain as day, just like Ma used to make biscuits.
Now, I ain’t no expert on these highfalutin’ things, but I hear tell these YSL bags, they call ’em Saint Laurent too, it’s the same thing, like callin’ your husband “honey” or “old man,” still the same fella. Anyways, I hear they’re cheaper over in Europe, Paris and such. Cheaper by a whole lot, they say, like 20% less, maybe even more if you’re one of them tourists gettin’ money back. Shoot, that’s a good chunk of change, enough to buy a whole mess of chickens!
They got all sorts of these bags, you know. Some little ones, some big ones, some with squiggly lines, some with them little squares all sewn on. They call it “quilting,” I think. Sounds cozy, like a grandma’s quilt, but I bet it ain’t as warm. They got this one bag, the Le 5 a 7, somethin’ like that, sounds like a train schedule to me. Anyways, it comes in all sorts of fancy leather, even snakeskin! Can you imagine, a snake on your purse? Folks say it’s a good thing to buy, like puttin’ money in the bank, only you can carry it around. I guess that’s handy if you need to skedaddle quick.
- One thing’s for sure, these bags ain’t cheap. But I reckon if you got the money, why not? It’s better than buryin’ it in the backyard, I always say.
- And folks seem to like ’em. They say it makes ’em feel all glamorous and whatnot. Reminds me of that time old Bessie Mae won the pie contest, she was struttin’ around like a peacock.
- They got this shiny little YSL thing on the bags, so everyone knows you got the real deal, not some knockoff from the flea market.
Now, how do you know if it’s a real one, not somethin’ made in somebody’s basement? Well, they say there’s a little tag inside with a bunch of numbers on it. Sewed right in, they say. Kinda like how I sew patches on Pa’s overalls, only neater, I bet. Can’t be foolin’ nobody these days, gotta be careful.
They sell these bags all over the place, even online now. You can just sit in your rocker and order one up, ain’t that somethin’? Bloomingdale’s, Neiman Marcus, and even the Saint Laurent store itself, they all got ’em. Just gotta watch out for that shippin’ fee, it can bite ya like a copperhead.
The Saint Laurent folks, they make all sorts of things, not just bags. Clothes, shoes, all that fancy stuff. But these envelope bags, they seem to be real popular. I guess folks like somethin’ they can carry all their important stuff in, you know, lipstick, wallet, maybe a little snack.
They come in all colors too, black, brown, red, even that fancy powder blue color like Miz Higgins’ Sunday hat. And they got different kinds of leather, some smooth, some bumpy. It’s all about the feel, they say. Like pickin’ out a good watermelon, you gotta thump it a bit, see if it’s right.
So, there you have it, a little bit of info about these YSL envelope bags. I still don’t rightly understand why folks pay so much for ’em, but hey, to each their own, I always say. Me? I’m happy with my good ol’ feed sack purse. It holds everything I need, and it didn’t cost me an arm and a leg. But if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ fancy, somethin’ to make you feel like a queen, well, maybe one of these YSL bags is just the ticket. Just remember what I told ya, watch out for them fakes, and don’t go spendin’ your whole life savings on one bag! There’s more to life than fancy purses, you know. A good pot of beans and some cornbread, that’s all a body really needs.
And remember, if you’re gonna buy one, make sure it’s got that little tag with the numbers inside, and don’t be afraid to shop around for the best price. Heck, maybe even take a trip to Paris, see the sights and save some money on a bag while you’re at it. Just don’t forget to send me a postcard!
